How to use the creator income calculator
Followers
Add up your followers across platforms. If the same people follow you on TikTok and Instagram, shave the total down, because they will only join your list once.
Followers who join your email list
The share of followers who give you an email address. With no signup page this is close to zero, which is why it comes first.
Subscribers who buy
The share of your list that buys when you launch. Your offer, price and launch emails decide it.
Product price and subscription
Enter the price. If it is a monthly membership, paid community or app, tick the box and set how many months an average member stays. The result then switches to lifetime revenue and the monthly recurring revenue each launch adds.
Launches or promotions a year
How many times a year you open sales or run a promotion to the list. The default is 4, about once a quarter. For one-off products it sets the "Revenue from 4 launches" line, which assumes each launch converts like the first, so read it as a ceiling.
The math behind the estimate
Email subscribers = followers × opt-in rate. Buyers per launch = subscribers × buy rate. Revenue per buyer = the price, or for a subscription, price × months a member stays (their lifetime value).
For a one-off product: revenue from one launch = buyers × price, and revenue from N launches = one launch × the number of launches you enter.
For a subscription: lifetime revenue from one launch = buyers × price × months a member stays. Monthly recurring revenue added per launch = buyers × price, the amount your monthly income rises by while those members stay.
Revenue per follower, per launch = revenue from one launch ÷ followers.
The model is deliberately simple, so know its limits. The multi-launch figure assumes every launch sells to the same list at the same buy rate, with no new subscribers and no fatigue, so treat it as a ceiling, not a forecast. Lifetime revenue for a subscription arrives over the months members stay, not on launch day.
Where the default rates come from
| Input | Default | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Followers who join your list | 6% | Our case study: 7,000+ emails from 115k followers, about 6.1% |
| Subscribers who buy | 1.4% | Our case study: 100+ purchases from 7,000+ emails, about 1.4% |
| Followers | 50,000 | An example audience size, not from the case study |
| Price | $49 | An example price point, not from the case study |
| Months a member stays | 6 | An example, used only when the subscription box is ticked |
| Launches a year | 4 | An example: one launch or promotion a quarter |
The two rates come from one launch, our case study, where a landing page turned new attention into email signups and the 100+ purchases were split across an app, a book and a paid community. They are not a guarantee. Most accounts will see different rates, higher or lower, so replace them with your own as soon as you have them.
Case study: a new product launch
We launched a new product. In 2 weeks, these are the results.
- 115kfollowers, starting from zero
- 7,000+emails collected
- 100+purchases across an app, a book and a paid community
No audience, no list and no sales on day one. Organic content earned the follow, a landing page captured the email, and three offers closed the sale. Read the case study.
How much money can you make from 50,000 followers?
The default run: 50,000 × 6% = 3,000 subscribers. 3,000 × 1.4% = 42 buyers. 42 × $49 = $2,058 a launch, and at most $8,232 across 4 launches. That is about $0.04 per follower per launch. Here is how it moves when you change one input.
| Scenario | Subscribers | Buyers | Lead result | Second line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Defaults: $49 product | 3,000 | 42 | $2,058 from one launch | $8,232 from 4 launches (ceiling) |
| $20 a month community, 6-month stay | 3,000 | 42 | $5,040 lifetime revenue from one launch | $840 a month in recurring revenue added |
| Opt-in drops to 2% | 1,000 | 14 | $686 from one launch | $2,744 from 4 launches (ceiling) |
| 115,000 followers, as in our case study | 6,900 | 97 | $4,733 from one launch | $18,934 from 4 launches (ceiling) |
Calculator output, rounded the same way the tool rounds. Subscription math: 42 members × $20 = $840 a month, × 6 months = $5,040 over their lifetime.
Which number to move first
Followers are the input creators obsess over, and usually the last one worth changing.
Opt-in rate
Going from 2% to 6% triples revenue without one new follower. A signup page with a reason to join is the fix. Our guide to building an email list as a creator covers how.
Buy rate
This is the funnel's job: the welcome emails, the offer and the checkout. See how the pieces connect in the creator sales funnel.
Price and format
The same 42 buyers bring in $2,058 on a $49 product, or $840 a month and $5,040 over their lifetime on a $20 monthly community with a 6-month stay. Plan the product with our guide on how to launch a digital product.
Followers
More followers multiply whatever the funnel does. With no list and no offer, they multiply zero.
If the numbers are worth building
We work with creators and personal brands to grow the audience and build the list, offer and checkout behind it. For audiences and offers we believe in, we can do it as a revenue share partnership: a lower upfront fee plus a share of the sales we help create, tracked through your checkout.
