Black Friday and holiday

Black Friday marketing agency for the 2026 holiday season

A Black Friday marketing agency builds your email and SMS list while ads are cheaper, then sells hard to it from Thanksgiving, November 26, through Cyber Monday, November 30, 2026, and keeps selling until the shipping cutoffs in mid-December. Here is the plan, with every 2026 date.

Why Black Friday is won before Black Friday

The money is real. Adobe Analytics reported $11.8 billion in US online spending on Black Friday 2025, $14.25 billion on Cyber Monday and $44.2 billion across the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday (Adobe, December 2025).

So is the competition for attention. In an analysis of $22.6 million in Meta spend, Lebesgue found the median brand's CPM was 59% higher during Black Friday week 2025 than its September average, and 84% higher on Black Friday itself. Cost per purchase still fell 20%, because people convert far better that week (Lebesgue).

The lesson: buy attention while it is cheaper, in October and early November, and use it to fill your email, SMS and retargeting audiences. Then in BFCM week, most of your sales come from people who already know you, and your expensive impressions go to warm audiences that convert.

For the platform mix, most ecommerce brands do best with Meta ads for retargeting and catalog ads in sale week, TikTok and Reels for gift discovery in the weeks before, and Pinterest for planners who start their gift lists early. Email and SMS do the heavy lifting on the days that matter.

The BFCM campaign plan, week by week

Built for 2026. If you are reading this in early November, start at step two: our campaigns typically go live 3 to 4 weeks after the brief, which still lands before Thanksgiving week if you brief us now.

  1. October to early November: build the list

Run ads to an early-access signup page: join the list, get the Black Friday offer first. Post gift-idea and product-in-use content organically. Lock the offer, inventory and fulfillment plan now.

  2. Nov 9 to Nov 22: produce and pre-approve

Make all the sale creative: 10 to 20 short videos and statics across the offer, the gift angle and the deadline. Upload ads a week early so they clear review before the rush, and leave them paused.

  3. Nov 23 to Nov 26: early access

Open the offer to your list and retargeting audiences first. Email and SMS lead; paid social retargets everyone who signed up or visited in the last 60 days.

  4. Nov 27 to Nov 30: Black Friday to Cyber Monday

Go public. Raise budgets on campaigns that are already running rather than launching new ones, which have to learn from scratch at the most expensive time of year. Rotate in deadline creative for Sunday and Monday.

  5. Dec 1 to Dec 19: gifts and shipping cutoffs

Switch from discount to gifting: bundles, gift guides, order-by dates. Green Monday on Dec 14 and the Dec 17 ground cutoff are natural deadlines.

  6. Dec 20 onward: gift cards and January

Promote gift cards and digital products, then plan a January offer for the new customers you just acquired.

Holiday creative that sells in a crowded feed

Lead with the offer

Black Friday is the one week buyers want the deal in the first second. Put the discount or bundle on screen immediately.

Gift framing

Show who it is for: the person who has everything, the coffee snob, the new parent. Gift buyers shop for someone else's problem.

Creator unboxings

Holiday UGC with real reactions answers whether it makes a good gift. Our UGC team can turn these around in time if briefed early.

Deadline versions

Make each winning ad in three versions: sale starts, ends tonight, order by date. Swapping text is cheap; new concepts are not.

Holiday campaign budget

Our campaign launch starts from $5,000 one-off and covers strategy, the full set of holiday creative, ad setup, the early-access and sale landing pages, the launch and a results report. Ad spend is separate and paid to the platforms. If you want monthly creative and management through December and into January, our always-on plan starts from $3,500 a month.

For spend, plan for higher CPMs in BFCM week and weight the budget accordingly: a meaningful slice in October and early November to build the list cheaply, the largest share from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday aimed mostly at warm audiences, and a steady amount through the shipping cutoffs. Our agency cost guide and TikTok ads cost guide cover rates in more detail.

What to measure during BFCM

  • List growth and cost per subscriber before the sale
  • Revenue from email and SMS versus paid social, day by day
  • Blended return: total revenue divided by total marketing spend
  • Cost per purchase compared with your September baseline
  • Landing page conversion rate on mobile, hour by hour on Black Friday
  • Stock levels on the top five products, so ads stop before items sell out

How Black Friday campaigns go wrong

Deciding the offer in mid-November

The creative, pages and emails all depend on it. Late offers mean rushed everything.

Ads stuck in review

Uploading on Black Friday morning and waiting for approval while the day passes.

New campaigns on peak days

Fresh campaigns start with no data in the most expensive auction of the year.

No list to sell to

Relying on cold traffic at peak CPMs instead of an audience built in October.

Stopping on Cyber Monday

Three more weeks of gift buying follow. Plan the December wave before November ends.

Questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27. Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, Small Business Saturday is November 28 and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30.

When should you start Black Friday marketing?

Start list-building in October or early November and have all creative made and approved about a week before Thanksgiving. Our campaigns typically go live 3 to 4 weeks after the brief, so brief your agency by early November at the latest.

Are Black Friday ads more expensive?

Yes. One analysis of 2025 Meta data found median CPMs 59% higher in Black Friday week than in September. Conversion rates also rise, so cost per purchase can still be lower if your creative and offer are ready.

What are the 2026 holiday shipping deadlines?

USPS recommends shipping by December 17 for Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail, December 18 for Priority Mail and December 19 for Priority Mail Express for Christmas delivery in the lower 48. These are recommendations, not guarantees.

Is it too late to run a Black Friday campaign in November?

Not if you move now. Brief in the first week of November and focus on your existing list, retargeting and a simple offer. If you are later than that, aim for the December gift wave and the shipping cutoffs instead.
